What is Taama?

Taama is an AI-powered compliance and launch readiness platform for the CPG industry. It checks labels, ingredients, claims, documentation, retailer specs, and trade spend, across markets, continuously.

CPG brands use it to catch issues before they delay a launch or erode a margin. Regulatory consultants and agencies use it to scale their review capacity without adding headcount. In both cases, the goal is the same: fewer surprises, faster execution, cleaner outcomes.

Who is Taama for?

Taama is built for two types of users in the CPG space:

  • CPG brands: teams in food & beverage and supplements who are launching products across markets and need to catch artwork errors, compliance gaps, retailer spec misses, commercialization mistakes, and trade spend drift before they cost them. The platform keeps running after launch too, monitoring margins and flagging issues as they appear.

  • Regulatory consultants and agencies: firms that review and validate products on behalf of brand clients, and need to handle more clients and more SKUs (across multiple markets simultaneously) without burning through capacity or hiring.

If you’re managing regulated products and the cost of getting it wrong falls on you, Taama is built for your team.

Which markets and product categories does Taama support?

Taama currently supports food & beverage and dietary supplements (categories where ingredient-level compliance, label accuracy, and claim substantiation are legally required). Beauty and personal care is coming soon.

Coverage spans the following markets:

  • United States (FDA): GRAS ingredient status, food additive regulations and permitted uses, Nutrition Facts Panel formatting, health claim substantiation and approval status, allergen labeling and cross-contamination warnings

  • European Union & UK (EFSA / FSA): Novel Foods regulation (EU) 2015/2283, food additives regulation (EC) No 1333/2008, nutrition and health claims regulation (EC) No 1924/2006, food information to consumers regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, health claim validation against the EU Register

  • Canada (Health Canada / CFIA): Food and Drug Regulations, Natural Health Products Regulations, bilingual labeling requirements, permitted health claims under Schedule A

  • Australia & New Zealand (FSANZ): Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code, nutrition content and health claims, mandatory advisory statements, country of origin labeling

  • Singapore (SFA): Sale of Food Act, food labeling regulations, permitted health claims, nutrition information panel requirements

  • Malaysia (MOH / MAQIS): Food Act 1983 and Food Regulations 1985, permitted food additives, nutrition labeling requirements, halal-adjacent ingredient considerations

  • Philippines (FDA Philippines): Food and Drug Administration product registration, label requirements under FDA Circular, nutrition facts requirements, permitted health and nutrient content claims

  • Gulf, India & more Southeast Asia (coming soon): GCC technical regulations, FSSAI (India) food standards, and broader ASEAN market coverage currently in active development

How do we get started?

The fastest way is to run a check on a real product, ideally one you’re planning to launch in a new market soon. Start with our free 7-day trial, which includes label scanning and compliance insights with no setup required.

For full access, including formula checks, multi-market validation, marketing and ecom page screening, margin and trade spend monitoring, workflow tools, team collaboration, an alerting system, and chat support - book a demo. Most teams are up and running within a week. Enterprise onboarding (SSO, API, custom regulatory scope) typically takes two to four weeks.

How does pricing work?

Taama offers a free 7-day trial that includes label scanning and compliance reports.

The Starter plan is $100/month and includes 10 product assessments per month with active monitoring. For teams handling higher volumes, multiple markets, or needing supplier collaboration and expert support, we build plans around your specific needs. See pricing or contact us for a custom quote.

Does Taama replace regulatory experts?

No, and it’s designed not to.

For consultants and agencies: Taama automates the repetitive, rules-based parts of compliance review so your experts spend their time on decisions that require real judgment, not on checks that a system can run faster and more consistently. When a case needs deeper regulatory interpretation, Taama flags it for human review. You stay in control; Taama handles the volume.

For CPG brands: Taama gives your regulatory, product, and commercial teams a shared system to catch issues early and track what's moving. It doesn't replace the expertise you have internally, or the consultants you already work with, it makes both more effective by removing the manual overhead and giving everyone the same view. And when a final stamp is needed, we work with a network of trusted partners to get you there.

How does Taama stay up to date with regulatory changes?

Taama monitors regulatory changes across all covered markets on an ongoing basis. When a new rule, updated ingredient list, or labeling requirement is published, the database is updated and any products affected are flagged automatically.

This is especially valuable in fast-moving markets like the EU, where Novel Foods regulations and health claim databases update frequently. You’re never caught off-guard by a change you didn’t see coming.

What kinds of issues does Taama detect?

More than labels. Taama is built to catch mistakes across the full commercialization journey, the kinds of things that slip through because no one system was watching for all of them at once.

That includes:

  • Label and packaging issues: non-compliant ingredients, missing allergen declarations, incorrect nutrition formats, unsupported claims, wrong barcode or format specs

  • Commercialization gaps: wrong category setup, missing registrations, incomplete documentation required by retailers or platforms for onboarding or listing, missing documents for customs clearance

  • Marketing and ecom misalignment: claims on your website or product pages that don’t match what’s on the label or what’s compliant in the target market

  • Trade spend and margin mistakes: deductions that don’t add up, promotional spend drifting beyond plan, margin erosion that compounds quietly across SKUs or markets

If it’s a mistake that costs you time, money, or a listing, Taama is trying to catch it before it does.
